Chennai Super Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad: Who'll get the first win of this season.

The seventeenth match of the Indian Premier League will see the clash of those two teams who are yet to open their winning account this season.

    Robin Uthappa Robin Uthappa

Defending champions Chennai Super Kings will be taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai. Both the teams have been seen struggling in all the departments, be it batting or bowling and have been inconsistent with their performance.

    Struggling champions

Chennai Super Kings have lost three matches in a row. The most concerning thing for the team is their batting. The big scorers of the game like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ambati Rayudu and skipper Ravindra Jadeja are yet to fire from their bats. Only Robin Uthappa has fairly done well but not getting support from the other end makes his wicket also vulnerable. Their bowling line-up has also failed, missing their powerplay bowler Deepak Chahar.

    Bounce back game for SRH?

On the other hand, Kane Williamson led Sunrisers Hyderabad also has suffered two consecutive losses. While they had a very crushing defeat in the opening match from Rajasthan Royals, they were better in giving a fight against Lucknow Super Giants. They have a good bowling line-up and have been doing well; their batters need to capitalise from their innings and support the bowlers. They have specialist death bowlers such as Natarajan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, but they lack finishers with the bat who can win games for them.

    Head-to-head record

Of the 16 matches between the two, CSK won 12 of them, whereas SRH could win only four. The highest and lowest scores between the two are 223 and 132, respectively.

    Pitch Report

The wicket has been equally favorable for both batters and bowlers. As the match is in the day, the dew factor might come in the latter part of the match.

Stats to keep an eye on

    • Since IPL 2019, Kane Williamson has struggled against Chennai Super Kings, averaging 26.50 in five innings, his second-poorest numbers among all IPL teams in that period.
    • MS Dhoni has a strike rate of 195 (his best among all teams) in the slog overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The match looks promising as the finalists of the IPL 2018 clash. The best part of it is that one of the teams will be able to break their losing streak and fetch two points for themselves.
