Australia began the series with a comfortable six-wicket win in Adelaide on Thursday. They reached their target of 288 with 3.1 overs remaining. This match will kick off in Sydney at 2:20 pm local time.

Australia got off to an excellent start in both innings and outplayed England for much of the first ODI. The Australians are always a strong team in home conditions, and they will be confident of winning the series in Sydney.

England did not show their best side in Adelaide, but we expect them to do better in this ODI. There were good individual performances; you can never rule them out in white-ball cricket.

    Australia Players to watch

    1. Steve Smith- the former captain needs to be considered more robust for T20Is, but the ODI format suits him much more. In Adelaide, he scored 80 for no out in 78 balls.

    2. Pat Cummins- the captain was expensive at times in the opening match of the series but picked the wickets of front-row players Phil Salt and James Vince.

    England Player to watch

    1. Dawid Malan- the left-handed batsman always seems to need to be sure of his place in England's team, no matter the format. He hit 12 fours and four sixes and will try to prove himself again in this match.

    2. Chris Jordan- the right-arm pace bowler, is always a reliable player for his country. He featured in the semi-final and final of the T20 World Cup, and he never lets England down.

    Pitch Report

There are no demons on this track, and the batters can play their shots by trusting the bounce of the wicket. This pitch is one of the driest wickets in Australia, and the spinners will play a significant role on this track. However, as the match goes on, the pitch deteriorates a bit, making it tough to bat on in the second innings.
