Australia beat England by 72 runs to win the ODI series

    Australia claimed a convincing 72-run victory over England in the second ODI in Sydney to seal the series win with one match remaining

    Chasing 281 runs to level the series, England had recovered from 0-2 and 34-3 thanks to a 122-run partnership between James Vince (60) and Sam Billings (71).

    But Josh Hazlewood (2-33), standing in for Pat Cummins as Australia captain, troubled Vince LBW to trigger a collapse that left England on 208 runs.

    Mitchell Starc (4-47) and Adam Zampa (4-45) were the top bowlers for the hosts. Starc dismissed both Jason Roy and Dawid Malan for ducks in the first over of England's reply.

    Earlier, Steve Smith (94) and Marnus Labuschagne (58) and Mitchell Marsh (50) led Australia to a score of 280-8 with their 50 overs, with the recalled Adil Rashid (3-57) the best English bowler.
