PV Sindhu is currently in rehab, and her recovery is going well. The veteran Indian shuttler is keen to be back in action at BWF World Tour Finals 2022, set to take place in Guangzhou, China, from December 14.

The 27-year-old Hyderabad native won the championship match against Michelle Li of Canada to claim the women's singles gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

PV Sindhu won despite suffering a stress fracture on her left ankle in the early stages of the tournament. She powered through the pain and played most of her messages with a strapped leg en route to her maiden singles Commonwealth Games gold medal.

While talking about missing the BWF World Championships in an interview with IANS, PV Sindhu said, "Definitely, it was sad to miss the BWF World Championships due to a stress fracture, but I feel taking care of my body was also important. I am taking the break positively. I think this is the only time I will get a break because next year will be hectic with tournaments lined up one after another."

She added, "Everything (rehab and recovery) is going well. Hopefully, I will compete at the BWF World Tour Finals in December."

Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu is not taking anyone lightly. She believes that the top 15 players on BWF global rankings are of the same standard and best individual performance in each match is crucial to winning.

PV Sindhu is among the most successful Indian badminton players, having won medals at the Commonwealth Games, Olympics and World Championships, alongside other international tournaments. However, she failed to win the elusive gold medal at the Olympics.

PV Sindhu said, "There is a lot of preparation going to happen. I have to be mentally and physically fit. So that I can be at my best for Paris."
